ED is a symptom. We assess what may contribute.
Occasional difficulty is normal. Persistent ED usually points to something underneath, because healthy erectile function depends on several systems working together. Diagnosis begins with medical, sexual, and psychosocial history, a focused exam, and selected testing when indicated. Not everyone needs the same laboratory panel.
Vascular & metabolic
High blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, smoking, and other circulation-related issues can contribute. ED can also be a reason to review cardiovascular risk with a clinician.
Neurologic & medication-related
Nerve conditions or injury, pelvic surgery, sleep problems, alcohol or other substances, and some prescription medications can affect erectile function.
Hormonal & psychological
Testosterone deficiency can contribute in some men, but it should not be assumed. Stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship factors may also play a role, alone or alongside physical causes.

What men ask us most often
Is my visit really confidential?
Dr. Brown leads the clinical evaluation, while staff may assist with intake, testing, scheduling, and records. Health information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy and on our Health Information Privacy page, including uses or disclosures permitted or required by law. A free phone call is available for general questions, but it is not a diagnosis, prescription visit, or substitute for a clinical evaluation.
Do I need testosterone therapy too?
Not necessarily. Testosterone deficiency is one possible contributor, but ED alone does not establish it. Testing is selected based on your symptoms and history. A diagnosis generally requires compatible symptoms plus consistently low testosterone on two separate early-morning measurements — that comes before any discussion of testosterone therapy.
How fast does treatment work?
Response depends on the contributing factors and treatment. Oral PDE5 medication does not work for everyone on the first try; correct use and several attempts may be needed before judging the response. Do not change a prescribed dose on your own. Follow-up is used to review effectiveness, side effects, and alternatives.
What safety issues should I know about?
PDE5 inhibitors must not be used with nitrate medicines because the combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Tell your clinician about every medicine and substance you use before treatment. Penile injection therapy requires individualized dosing and hands-on instruction. An erection lasting more than four hours is an emergency and needs immediate medical care.
What will the medication cost?
Medication is priced separately from your $29/month membership, and the cost varies depending on which medication fits your plan, since oral and injectable options differ. Dr. Brown walks through the options and their costs during your results review or treatment-planning visit before anything is prescribed.
